PURDY - In this village, of consumption, on the 24th March, in the 23rd year of her age, Mrs. Eliza A. PURDY, wife of George PURDY of this place and daughter of Suel and Minerva DEWEY of Ripley, Chatauque County, NY.  On the 16th of last October, she was united in marriage to him who thus early, goes again "to the grave to weep there."  Mrs. PURDY possessed great natural energy of character, was a most decided Christian, and met the final issue in calm faith and hope.  (Ontario Republican Times, Wed, Apr 2, 1862)

ROSE - On the 21st, instant, (Aug 27, 1862) Frances, aged 7 years, 10 months, and 23 days, daughter and only child of P. H. and Emeline ROSE, of Canandaigua.  A lovely child, bright and intelligent beyond her years, a pure and gentile spirit - an opening flower of rich promise, removed early form the defilements of  earth, to shed its fragrance eternally in the garden of God.  (Ontario Republican Times, Wed, Aug 27, 1862)
