Hughes1 Supplee  was born Penn. September 08, 1810.  Hughes died April 26, 1873 Canandaigua, New York, at 62 years of age.[ii]   [ii]. Ontario County Times, April 30, 1873.

DIED   -  SUPPLEE      At his residence in this village, on Saturday evening last,  Deacon Hughes Supplee, aged 64 years. His body was interred 1873.  Listings for West Avenue Cemetery show both he and wife with no stone. Three of their children are listed as buried here.

                          He married Mary Yerkes Canandaigua, New York, May 27, 1838.  Mary was born Penn. March 01, 1815.  Mary was the daughter of Johnathan Yerkes and Mary Watkins .  Mary died November 30, 1894 Canandaigua, New York, at 79 years of age. [iii] [iii]. DIED  -  SUPPLEE       At Canandaigua, November 30, 1894, Mrs. Mary Y. Supplee, aged 76 years.

Early last Friday morning occurred the death of Mrs. Mary Y. Supplee at her home in this village after an illness of but a few hours, of neuralgia of the heart. Mrs. Supplee was nearly 78 years of age and left two sons, Leonard and Charles Y. Supplee. Rev. H. C. Townley officiated at the funeral service Sunday afternoon. 

Charles Yerkes2 Supplee was born Canandaigua, New York July 21, 1839.  Charles died October 07, 1908 Buffalo, New York, at 69 years of age.

                                       DEATHS  OF  THE  WEEK

The death of Charles Y. Supplee, a former resident of this village, occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. F. Latter, at Buffalo, on Monday morning from apoplexy. Mr. Supplee had resided here his entire life until 18 years ago, when he removed to Buffalo. He conducted a hat and cap store here for many years.   He was a veteran of the Civil War, enlisting in Co. G. 148 NY Vol., in September 1862, and serving until 1865. Mr. Supplee was 69 years of age.

He leaves his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Latter, and Mrs. Seymour E. Durand, of this village, and one brother, Leonard Supplee, also of this village. The funeral was held from the Latter home on Wednesday afternoon and the interment was made in the soldier's burying plot. His body was interred 1908 Canandaigua, New York.

His obituary mentions a funeral in Buffalo, and then a soldier's burying plot.

                      He married Catherine Rohrer 1865.  Catherine was born Penn. January 16, 1840.  Catherine died August 06, 1926 Canandaigua, New York, at 86 years of age.

                                    MRS. CHARLES  Y.  SUPPLEE

Mrs. Charles Y. Supplee aged 85 years, died of general disability at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Seymour E. Durand, in Gibson Street, Monday.  Funeral services will be held from the home this afternoon, Rev. George E. Finlay of the Baptist church officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Deceased was born in Penn. on January 16, 1840. At the close of the Civil War she was married to Charles Y. Supplee, a Canandaigua businessman who died several years ago. With the exception of several years spent in Chicago and Buffalo, she had resided here most of her lifetime.

She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Durand with whom she made her home, and Mrs. George Frederick Latter, of Oakland, Cal., one sister, Mrs. Cyrus Jarrett, of Ludington, Mich., six grandchildren, Misses Katherine and Margaret Durand, and LaVerne Durand of Canandaigua. 

Mary Jennie3 Supplee was born Canandaigua, New York September 2, 1867.  Mary died July 17, 1956 Canandaigua, New York, at 88 years of age.

 Mrs. Seymour Durand     OBITUARY                  

Mrs. Jennie Supplee Durand, 88, widow of Seymour E. Durand, who died in 1946, died in Thompson Hospital, Tuesday, July 17, 1956 after a brief illness. She had resided at 169 Gibson Street.

Born September 2, 1867, daughter of the late Charles Y. and Catherine E. Supplee. She had two daughters, Katherine L. Durand and Margaret J. Durand, both of Canandaigua, one son LeVerne Durand, also of Canandaigua, one sister, Mrs. G. Frederick Latter, Oakland, Cal.  Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Her body was interred 1956 Canandaigua, New York, Woodlawn Cemetery. 

                          She married Seymour Elias Durand Canandaigua, New York, February 22, 1888.

            MARRIED        SUPPLEE  -   DURAND

At the residence of the bride's parents, Canandaigua, NY, Feb. 22, 1888, by the Rev. S. A. McKay, Mr. Seymour Durand and Miss Jennie Supplee, both of Canandaigua.

                           Seymour was born Canandaigua, New York April 07, 1864.  Seymour was the son of Luman Munson Durand and Gertrude Letitia Gillette .  Seymour died March 11, 1946 Canandaigua, New York, at 81 years of age.

Funeral services for Seymour Elias Durand, 81, who died at his home in Gibson Street, Monday morning, March 11, 1946, after a brief illness of pneumonia, were held from the home Wednesday PM. The Rev. Richard H Bowen officiated. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Born April 7, 1864 in Canandaigua town, he was the son of Luman M. and Leticia Gillett Durand and had been a lifelong resident, with the exception of five years spent in Buffalo.

He attended old Canandaigua Academy. For a number of years he was engaged in the meat business with his father. On March 1, 1909, Mr. Durand was appointed rural carrier for the Canandaigua Post Office and served 23 years on what was then Route 4 to Bristol Center and vicinity. He retired on pension in July 1932. He was an original member of the Merrill Hose Company.  On February 22, 1888, Mr. Durand was married to Miss Jennie Supplee, of Canandaigua, and observed their 58th anniversary last month.

Besides his wife, survivors are a son and two daughters, S. LeVerne Durand, Miss Katherine L., and Miss Margaret J. Durand, and a sister and brother, Miss Gertrude L. and Luman H. Durand, all of this city.

Minnie Supplee was born Canandaigua, New York February 1877.  She married Roy Horton McMillan Canandaigua, New York, March 11, 1897.

                   Roy was born in Hemlock Lake, New York December 04, 1876.  Roy was the son of Horton McMillan and Annie Curran .  Roy died June 23, 1926 Canandaigua, New York, at 49 years of age.

Roy H. McMillan aged 49 years, died suddenly at his home on North Avenue Wednesday afternoon, following a cerebral hemorrhage suffered that morning.  Mr. McMillan was born at Livonia, but had been a resident of Canandaigua since childhood.  He had been a custom tailor here for several years.   

Survivors are his wife, Miriam Supplee McMillan, nine sons and two daughters, Richard of Gloversville, Harry and Donald of Miami, John of St. Louis, Robert, William, George and Dorothy, Margaret, James and Louis, all of this city, his father, Horton McMillan, and a brother, Peter A. McMillan of Canandaigua.   Funeral services held from his home Sunday afternoon.  Interment Woodlawn, where the Masonic Ritual was conducted. 

George A.3 Supplee  was born New York January 03, 1879.  George died April 24, 1917 Canandaigua, New York, at 38 years of age.

SUPPLEE -  The death of George A. Supplee occurred at his home on Parrish Street on Tuesday the 24th following a long illness aged 38 years. He leaves his wife, Mrs. May Palmer Supplee and three daughters, Leah, Miriam and Ruth Supplee, his father, Leonard Supplee, one sister Mrs. Roy McMillan, all of Canandaigua, one brother Fred of Rochester. Woodlawn Cemetery. His body was interred 1917 Canandaigua, New York, Woodlawn Cemetery.

          He married May Palmer Canandaigua, NY, December 31, 1901.[iv] [iv]. Canandaigua City Clerk office record number 1176.

MARRIED    SUPPLEE  -  PALMER At Canandaigua, Dec. 31, 1901, George A. Supplee and Miss May Palmer, both of Canandaigua.

SUPPLEE  and PALMER  -   On Tuesday evening at 8 PM took place the marriage of George A Supplee and Miss May Palmer, both of this village. The ceremony was performed by Rev. William N. Thomas, of the Baptist church, and the couple were attended by the brother and sister of the groom.

May was born in Flint, Michigan 1882.  In the 1920 Canandaigua Census her father is listed as being from New York, and her mother from Michigan. May was the daughter of Byron Palmer and Hattie Perry . 

                     She married Oscar B. Hinckley Canandaigua, New York, February 21, 1919.

                     At 28 years of age May became the mother of Ruth G. Supplee Canandaigua, New York, January 20, 1911.

BORN  -   SUPPLEE    At Canandaigua January 20, 1911, to Mr. and Mrs. George Supplee, Parrish Street, a daughter. 

Leah May4 Supplee   was born Canandaigua, New York November 11, 1902.  Record number 1947 Canandaigua City Clerk. Leah died December 1984 Bloomfield, New York, at 82 years of age.  Her body was interred 1984 Baptist Hill, Bristol NY, Evergreen Cemetery.

  She married Roland Briggs Tiffany Canandaigua, NY, June 07, 1923. 


Roland B. Tiffany and Leah May Supplee married in Canandaigua, June 7, 1923. She is the daughter of Mrs. Oscar B. Hinkley of Bristol Street. Attendants at the wedding were William Ryan and Miriam Supplee.

                        SUPPLEE  -  TIFFANY

At the Baptist parsonage on West Gibson street Thursday took place the marriage of Miss Leah May Supplee, daughter of Mrs. O. B. Hinkley, of Bristol Street, and Roland Briggs Tiffany of West Gibson Street.

The ceremony was performed by Rev George E Finlay in the presence of the immediate relatives.  Her sister, Miss Miriam Supplee of this city who acted as bridesmaid, and Augustus Ryan of this city was groomsman.  Immediately after the ceremony they left for a trip to Buffalo and Niagara Falls. They will reside on West Gibson.

                             Roland was born Bristol, New York August 03, 1903.  Record number 2025 at City Clerk Office.
