WOLVERTON  - ZIMMERMAN

Emily A.3 Wolverton   was born Ontario County, New York 1854.  Emily died October 24, 1877 at 23 years of age.  Her body was interred 1877 Canandaigua, New York, Woodlawn Cemetery. She married Ira Piersall Cribb.

                                      Ira was born Naples, New York February 21, 1851.  Ira was the son of Joseph P. Cribb and Eleanor J. Francis .  He married  Estella Frances Douglass Canandaigua, New York, January 08, 1878.  Ira died June 10, 1943 Canandaigua, New York, at 92 years of age.

WOLVERTON   At Canandaigua, May 12, 1907, Mrs. Amelia Bower Wolverton, wife of Peter Wolverton, aged 59 years. 

Edson3 Wolverton was born 1858.  His body was interred Canandaigua, New York, West Avenue Cemetery.  A listing of Woodlawn Cemetery shows he was moved to West Avenue.  

          He married Ella E. Munson Canandaigua, New York, January 29, 1885.

WOLVERTONMUNSON   At the residence of Thadeus Munson, Esq., January 29, 1885, by Rev. M. S. Hard, Mr. Edson Wolverton and Miss Ella E. Munson, both of Canandaigua.

                         Ella was born 1858.  Ella was the daughter of Thaddeus Munson and Malissa .  Ella died June 08, 1904 Canandaigua, New York, at 45 years of age.

DIED -   WOLVERTON  At Canandaigua, June 8, 1904, Mrs. Ellen Munson Wolverton, wife of Edson Wolverton, aged 46 years, 6 months, 20 days.

OBITUARY -   Mrs. Ellen Munson Wolverton, wife of Edson Wolverton, died at the family home on the West Lake Shore on Wednesday morning, after a short illness from Bright's desease.  The diseased was a daughter of the late Thadeus Munson, of Cheshire.  Her sudden death comes as a sad blow to her husband and four children.   Two sisters were Mrs. Walter Wheeler and Mrs. Warren Davis, who survive. The funeral will be held from the home this afternoon, Rev. Dr. J. Wallace Webb will officiate. 

         

George W.1 Wood birth date unknown.    He married Jane Ann Daw in Batavia, Genesee County, New York, December 26, 1856.

                              WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. George W. Wood, Chapin Street, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on Wednesday.  George W. Wood and Jane Ann Daw were married on December 26, 1856, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Daw, at Daw's Corners, Genesee County.

Forty six years ago they came to Canandaigua, where they have since resided, with the exception of 15 years spent in Buffalo.  During this time Mr. Wood was in the employ of the New York Central and Penn. Railroads, he having retired 22 years ago. There was no formal celebration owing to the illness of Mrs. Wood.

               Jane was born in Daw's Corners July 20, 1838.  Jane was the daughter of Homer Daw and Lucinda .  Jane died April 17, 1918 Canandaigua, New York, at 79 years of age.

 WOOD -     The death of Mrs. Jane Ann Wood, wife of George W. Wood, occurred at the home on Chapin Street on Wednesday morning. 

Deceased was the daughter of Homer and Lucinda Daw, and was born at Daw's Corners on July 20, 1838.  Jane Ane Daw was married to George W. Wood at Batavia on December 26, 1856. Most of their married life was spent in Canandaigua.  All admired and respected her for her many good traits of character, and for her tender regard for all those by whom she was surrounded. She was a member of St. John's Church, the Woman's Auxilliary of the Young Men's Christian Temperance Union. 

There survive three sons, Clay M. Wood, of Rochester, Dr. George D. Wood and Harry Wood, of Canandaigua, and one daughter, Mrs. Joseph Maxwell, of New York City, also five grand daughters, and one grandson. Rev. Herbert Gaylord will officiate at the funeral services to be held at the home this afternoon. Interment will be at Ionia. 

George Daw DDS. Wood   was born Canandaigua, New York 1877.  George died June 02, 1937 Canandaigua, New York, at 59 years of age.  Rundel Library Vital Records Fiche for the State of NY, number 1006D, shows his death record number is  38055. He married Anne Marie Grieve Canandaigua, New York, December 18, 1901.[i]  [i]. Marriage record found at Canandaigua City clerk office states they are both age 25, he is a dentist.

MARRIED    WOOD -   GRIEVE  At Canandaigua, Dec. 18, 1901, Dr. George Daw Wood and Miss Anne M. Grieve, both of Canandaigua.

                                Anne was born Macedon, New York 1876.  Anne was the daughter of Alexander Grieve and Jane Rannie .  Anne died May 22, 1951 Canandaigua, New York, at 74 years of age.

                                                                             Mrs. George E. Wood

 Mrs. Anne Grieve Wood, of 69 Gibson Street, died today. A native of Palmyra she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Jane Rannie Grieve. She had always lived in this area. Her husband, Dr. George E. Wood died in 1937. She was a member of the United Church, a former member of the Granger Homestead Society of which she was one of the original directors. 

Her only survivors are two nieces, Mrs. William Jenkins of Canandaigua, and Mrs. Verne Westcott of California, a great niece, Mrs. John Bacon of Canandaigua, and several great great nieces and nephews. Interment at Woodlawn.

                            WEDDING  AT  WOOD  HOME                       

                           Abundance of Roses and Daisies Decorated the Rooms

BENHAM - WOOD   Amid a profusion of June roses, peonies, daisies and ferns, the marriage of Warren Case Benham and Miss Nellie Anna Wood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wood, Spangle Street, was solemnized at five o'clock yesterday afternoon. 

 The ceremony was performed by Rev. E. J. Brooker, of Seneca Castle, in the presence of 60 relatives and friends of the bride and groom. They were unattended. The bride wore a gown of white crepe dechine with shadow lace trimmings and carried white roses.

Following the ceremony the guests were served at the wedding dinner. The bride's table of 12 covers was centered with white carnations. The smaller tables were centered with white peonies, daisies and ferns to carry out the color scheme of green and white.

The wedding music was played by Miss Ruth Benham, sister of the groom. After a short trip Mr. and Mrs. Benham will reside with the bride's parents. Guests were present from Mount Vernon, Rochester, Victor and Canandaigua. Among the prenuptial events was a variety shower by Mrs. Anson Gage, on Saturday.

                                                Warren was born Hopewell, New York December 12, 1891.  Hopewell birth record number 85. Warren was the son of Ebenezer M. Benham and Hattie Hoyt Case .  Warren died September 26, 1943 at 51 years of age.

 BENHAM -   Warren Case Benham, a native of Hopewell, who had been a feed and produce dealer in Canandaigua for many years, died, Sunday, September 26, 1943, after a brief heart illness. 

 He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Wood Benham, two daughters, Miss Ruth Benham, Canandaigua, and Mrs. Roy Spearen, Elkhart, Ind., one son, Walter C. Benham, Canandaigua, three brothers, Supervisor, John H. Benham , and E. Murray Benham, both of Hopewell, and Maurice L. Benham, Canandaigua, two sisters, Miss Ruth Benham, Victor, and Mrs. James Edwards, Canandaigua.  Burial made in Woodlawn Cemetery.

                                           

 Myrtle L.2 Woolston   was born East Bloomfield, New York 1890.  She married Robert Sr. Appleton East Bloomfield, New York, January 18, 1910.  Witnessed by Jessie Wright and Clara Wright.  License number 641.

                                                 Robert was born East Bloomfield, New York April 13, 1889.  Robert was the son of Robert Appleton and Frieda Beutler .  Robert died April 13, 1956 Canandaigua, New York, at 67 years of age.

Robert Appleton Sr., 67, East Bloomfield, died at Thompson Memorial Hospital this morning, April 13, 1956, following a coronary attack which he suffered yesterday. He was born in East Bloomfield, February 13, 1889, and had resided always in this area.  He was the son of Robert and Fredricka Bueltler Appleton.  For many years he was a farmer and more recently was associated with the W. N. Clark canning factory at Holcomb. 

 He leaves his wife, Myrtle Woolston Appleton, two sons, Robert Jr., of Holcomb, Kenneth, Penn Yan, three brothers, Chester, Bristol, Hiram, Clifton Springs, and Leonard, Holcomb, two sisters, Mrs. Emmett Finagan, Canandaigua RD, and Mrs. George Cook, Rochester, and five grandchildren.  A funeral service will be held at the Kennedy Funeral chapel, Sunday, with Rev. Glenn Brewster, pastor of the East Bloomfield Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will be made in East Bloomfield Cemetery.                            

Ella Wright was born East Bloomfield, New York March 1873.  Ella died September 03, 1943 East Bloomfield, New York, at 70 years of age. 

Ontario County Times Journal Sept 10, 1943 stated that she had a daughter, Mrs. Dewey Whitney, and a son Ira Tiffany of Walworth. Also surviving her were two brothers, Charles of Canandaigua, and Walter of Elmira, and a sister, Mrs. Howard Decker of Rochester. Buried in E. Bloomfield Cemetery. Her body was interred 1943 East Bloomfield, New York, E. Bloomfield Cemetery.  She married Arthur L. Tiffany Honeoye, New York, March 01, 1890.  The newspaper account of the marriage gave her name as Miss Ella Bailey of East Bloomfield.  

Ella was born East Bloomfield, New York March 1873.  Ella was the daughter of Henry Wright and Almina Reed .  Ella died September 03, 1943 East Bloomfield, New York, at 70 years of age.

 MARRIED    TIFFANY -  BAILEY    In Honeoye March 1, 1890, by Rev. S. M. Day, Arthur L. Tiffany, of Bristol, and Miss Ella Bailey, of East Bloomfield. 

 

Joseph2 Wright was born in Penfield, New York 1892.  He married Hazel Lucretia Tiffany Canandaigua, New York, September 11, 1916.[i] [i]. Record number 3326.City clerk office record number 231.

WRIGHT - TIFFANY   At Canandaigua, September 11, 1916, Joseph Wright and Miss Hazel Tiffany, both of Canandaigua, at St. John's Rectory on Monday morning. Rev. Herbert L. Gaylord performed the ceremony.    

                           Hazel Tiffany was born Canandaigua, New York August 22, 1898.  Record number 1531 at City Clerk Office.

  BORN    TIFFANY    At Canandaigua, August 22, 1898, to Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur L. Tiffany, a daughter. Hazel was the daughter of Wilbur Levi Tiffany and Ina Emeline Briggs.

Mrs. Supplee was nearly 78 years of age and left two sons, Leonard  and Charles Y. Supplee. Rev. H. C. Townley officiated at the funeral service Sunday afternoon

Mary Yerkes was born Penn. March 01, 1815.  Mary was the daughter of Johnathan Yerkes and Mary Watkins .  Mary died November 30, 1894 Canandaigua, New York, at 79 years of age. [ii] [ii]. Canandaigua City Clerk office death record number 1223.

                                               DIED    SUPPLEE

At his residence in this village, on Saturday evening last,  Deacon Hughes Supplee, aged 64 years. His body was interred 1873.  Listings for West Avenue Cemetery show both he and wife with no stone. Three of their children are listed as buried here.

 

Filomena Carline Zarhlango was born Italy 1864.  Filomena died January 12, 1943 Canandaigua, New York, at 78 years of age.

          OBITUARY        SANT ANGELO

Mrs. Felomina Sant Angelo, 82, died at her home on Bristol Street, Tuesday afternoon, January 12, 1943, following a long period of ill health.  Born in Italy, Mrs. Sant Angelo had lived here for 51 years. She was the widow of John Sant Angelo who died 30 years ago.

Mrs. Sant Angelo is survived by four daughters and three sons, Mrs. John Cufari, Mrs. Domenic Ciocci, Mrs. Dominic D'Augustino, Mrs. William H. Hawley, James Nicholas and George Sant Angelo, all of Canandaigua, also 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Funeral services will be held this Friday from St. Mary's Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. 

                            She married George SantAngelo.  George was born Italy 1860.  George died June 08, 1913 East Bloomfield, New York, at 52 years of age.  His body was interred 1913 Canandaigua, New York, Calvary Cemetery.
