When ordering copies of News articles from a given organization, insist on checking all local newspapers, since

longer articles may appear in other papers and not just the "one liner" obit or marriage notices, even in many of the

older newspapers. If the town in which your ancestor lived or died, is located close to another town that

had a newspaper, have those newspapers checked as well, even in a neighboring county. Many times, more

than one article had been written, and announcements of marriages and deaths may have continued up to

4 weeks after date of the event of marriage or death. Question the fact that if you only get one, or two one liner

obits from an organization, if they researched all possible papers. Rochester, Monroe Co. newspapers

covered many events in the earlier newspapers for activities in the various surrounding counties, including Ontario Co.
