Notes: David's  father, William was in Glostertown and moved to Ulster Co bef 1761.
David married Phoebe Hyde abt 1792.
She was born in NY in 1772 and died 2/9/1845 , Ulster Co, NY
David's will was probated from New Platz, NY 7/29/1820.

EXTRA NOTE on David and Phoebe:
DAVID C. KEECH/KETCH,, d. 6 Aug. 1820, age 59, Marlborough, Ulster County, NY. will dated July 20, 1820 in New Paltz, recorded Sept. 6, 1824 in Ulster Co. Probate Records in the Office of the Surrogate in the County Clerk's office Kingston, NY, p. 109.

It is indexed as Ketch but signed David Keech. His wife Phoebe HYDE, b. ca. 1762, New York, d. 8 Feb. 1845, age 83, in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, NY, buried in Ulster County next to her husband. On the 1840 census she is listed as Phoebe Ketch and living next door to daughter,

Deborah Filkins in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Phoebe has a young male age 20-30 in household and her own age is listed as 60 - 70 yrs. old.

Benjamin and Alexander who get $25 each from grandpa.
His son David d. 6 Nov. 1816 age 2 mos., 21 days.

9. Anney Keech b. 1796, ANNA married Cornelius C. Dubois (a cooper by trade). She d. 19 January 1871 in 75th yr.
10. Phoebe Keech b. 3 Dec. 1802, Ulster Co., NY; d. 21 Feb. 1885 age 83, Yates Co., NY; m. Conrad Turner 23 Oct. 1820 in Poughkeepsie, NY.

14. Deby Keech (Deborah E., b. 1803, , d. 21 April 1889 age 76) married William H. Filkins, in Christ Church, Poughkeepsie, on 31 August 1833, who is dead by 1840 census leaving two small boys (John H., William C. Filkins) and tiny newborn baby girl.. Caroline "Carrie" V. Filkins.

Executors were: son William Keech, friends Barnabas Beuton & Wells Lake. Mentions 15 acres of land at South Brook, Crom Elbow, now in possession of John Howell and William or John Roose.
Witnesses: Mary Rosa, William Gidney, William Soper

"David & William Keech lived along the continuation of Thorne's Lane."

WILLIAM KEITCH - served as 2nd Lt. Ulster County, NY, June 14, 1775. Hardenburgh-Devoe. (He was either father or brother of our David.)

NOTES on George of RI:
George Keech came to Newport, RI from England in abt 1650. He later moved to Providence, RI.
During those years he deeded land to his son, William.


Stephen, his son, was mentioned in a census in 1790.
WC moved to Yates County with his family and then on to Michigan where he died of an infection caused by RYE caught under his fingernail.

W C settled in 1823 on lot 36,North Survey, where Peter Pulver resides.
He was a native of Ulster Co., NY where he married Rachel Semunyan [also spelled Lemunyan] of New Platz.
Their Ulster Co. neighbor, Aaron Craft, had come a few years before to Italy [township] wilderness and made the first settlement on lot 36.
His death occurred from running a rye straw under his thumb nail: Keech bought the land and went on from the slight beginning made by Craft, to clear up the place. He remained there 34 years, when he moved to Shermond Hollow and in 1866 to Kent Co., MI. His wife died in 1858 at the age of 61.

They had 14 children: David, who died young, Benjamin R who died at the age of 22, Alexander, Nathaniel, Joseph, Julia Ann, who died at the age of 15, Eliza, Stephen, William, Hiram, Susan Ann, Andrew J, Sarah E, and Lydia.

Alexander married Almena RICHARDS of Jerusalem, NY. Lived in Rockford, MI and had 2 children: Frank and Emma.
Elizabeth married ?? DUNN and had a daughter, Rachel, and lived in Oceanna, MI

He married Mary Jane BROWN

Death: 7/22/1913
Cause of death: pulmonary epedima [have OBIT]

ENDNOTE: Guy Keech married Frances Alvira CONLEY and their oldest son, Kenneth Leslie Keech.
