FULTON, Oct. 16 -- Among the guests present at the supper served by the Abe Schenck Post, G.A.R., last night, was Edward Scouten, 9[6?], of New York, a veteran of the Civil War.
   The supper was served to the Sons of Veterans, their auxiliary, and other patriotic organizations by the G.A.R.  Mr. Scouten, who is a former boatman on the Erie canal, renews acquaintances in this city each year.
 

Fulton Times  1888

On March 3d, Lena Grace, aged 5 yrs. 16 days, daughter of Elizabeth and Chas. Edgar Scouten formerly of Fulton, died of convulsions of her father's boat, the "Lena C. Betts," in Baltimore, Md.  The remains were taken to Brooklyn and interred in the family burial lot in Lutheran cemetery, Long Island.
