THE LATE FREMONT BECKER -
After weeks and months of patient suffering, Fremont H. Becker passed peacefully to his reward on the 11th inst. He had not seen a well day for over six years. About the first of December he was compelled to give up work, and since that time he has had to sit and wait for the end. As the hope of regaining health faded out, there was kindled in his breast a hope of a future life, free from disease and pain, where so many of his loved ones had preceded him. During the last few weeks his was a great sufferer, though uncomplaining.
He was permitted to experience that blessed assurance that his sins were all forgiven, and calling to his mother and sisters that he was coming, he passed triumphantly away. He was nearly 29 years old, and leaves a wife and a little boy, a father, two brothers and a host of friends to mourn his death. Canadice, June 23.

He was born in the town of Canadice about 81 years ago, and 50 years ago was married to Miss Elmira Knowles, also of Canadice, and in this town his life was spent, until about 12 years ago, when the wife died. Since that time he has made his home with his children.
In early manhood he learned the trade of a blacksmith and for years conducted a shop until the infirmities of old age compelled him to relinquish the work.
He is survived by four children, William Francisco of Atlanta; Elmer Francisco of Canadice; Mrs. John Hann of the town of Richmond; and Mrs. Albert VanBuren of this village; one sister, Mrs. Delia Brogan of Hemlock; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The death of Coe H. Coykendall removes from our community an old and highly respected citizen. He was born February 20,1833, on the farm now owned and occupied by his son, Everett, where, with the exception of a few years in Michigan and Livonia, most of his life was spent, and where he died March 23d after a long and painful illness.
Mr. Coykendall was married December 19,1854, to Caroline Pursell, whose death occurred twelve years ago. They were the parents of five sons: George and Frank of Lima, Everett of Canadice, John of Hemlock, and Grant, who died August 30, 1901.
Mr. Coykendall was one of a family of eleven children, of whom Charles, Squier. Isaac and Mrs. Sarah Adams of Michigan, survive. The funeral was held from his late home Saturday, March 25th, the Rev. Mr. Brown officiating. Incidentally the text, Psalms 90:12, was also used at the funeral service of his brother Jotham, who died in the Army in 1862.
Mr. Coykendall was an ardent temperance man, a kind and generous father and neighbor, and one whose cheerfulness endeared him to a large circle of friends. Canadice, April 5.
